By now you’ve likely seen the viral TikTok video of Nathan Apodaca (aka doggface208) riding his longboard down an Idaho highway while drinking Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice and lip syncing to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” The follow up video of him being gifted a brand new 2020 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is bringing the internet the dose of good news that 2020 needs, and Sayer Nissan is honored to have played a part. On September 25, Nathan Apodaca (who goes by the handle doggface208 on TikTok and Instagram) found himself stranded on his way to work. His vehicle was notoriously unreliable, so he kept his longboard in the truck to provide transportation in a pinch. Not one to let a stalled vehicle hold him back from his day, Apodaca grabbed his phone, a bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice, and got on his way. While cruising down the side of the highway listening to the 1977 Rock hit, Nathan took a moment to record his “good vibes only” state of mind and shared a video to popular video sharing app TikTok. By day’s end Nathan’s video had amassed more than 2.5 million views.
“I was coming to work and, like I said, my car, it just shuts off sometimes. The battery, I don’t know what it is, just shuts off.” he shared with TMZ. “I always have my longboard in there, in case I run out of gas or something. So I just jumped on my longboard, I was like I’ll just come and figure it out after work.”
According to Billboard, sales and streaming of the song Dreams spiked in response to Apodaca’s video. It even caught the attention of Mick Fleetwood, who recreated the video on his own TikTok account.
Prominently featured in the video is a bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice, which Apodaca is seen taking large sips from as he cruises along on his way to work. As his video went viral donations poured in, with Apodaca stating he planned to gift $5,000 to his mother, buy a new RV to live in, and upgrade his ride.
Ocean Spray got in touch with Sayer Nissan, telling us they wanted to help Nathan out with a new car, and we loved the idea. They looked at our inventory and chose the vehicle they wanted for him, (a brand new 2020 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X) and we headed to the local Target store in Idaho Falls to purchase all of the Ocean Spray juice they had in their stock. We filled the back of the truck with the juice and headed to Nathan’s house to surprise him at noon on Tuesday, October 6th.
