What do Nissan and Gibson Have in Common?
That might seem like an odd question to ask, but we assure you the answer is one you’ll want to hear. “Gibson and Nissan are both Tennessee-based companies that build products worthy of consumer passion yet suitable for everyday use,”1 explains Joe Castelli, vice president, Commercial Vehicles and Fleet, Nissan North America.
Of course, that’s just the beginning of the answer – otherwise, this wouldn’t be a very interesting blog post.
The real answer you came to read is that the two companies recently teamed up in order to create a new version of the Nissan NV200 van. Officially coined the NV200 Mobile Guitar Workshop, it’s sure to be any musician’s best friend.
And why’s that? Nissan didn’t just slap some Gibson decals on the side of its new utility van and call it a day; rather, the automaker enhanced this version of the NV200 with a wide range of equipment that will make preparing for gigs a breeze. Some that caught our eye include:
- A sliding instrument repair table
- Travel-mounted toolbox with supplies
- And, of course, a guitar rack behind the driver’s seat
As exciting as this to hear, we were even more thrilled to hear Nissan’s official reaction to this partnership. “Working with Gibson has been a dream come true for many of us here at Nissan, and we look forward to the next steps collaborating with them,”2 explains Castelli.
In other words, there’s more to come in the near future from these two companies. And that’s something you can bet we’ll be keeping an eye on as we move forward. Ron Sayer Nissan, located at 1175 N. Woodruff Ave. in Idaho Falls, ID is committed to keeping you informed, and you never know which new Nissan model might be given a tune-up next.
